H1N1 Flu Clinic Held at St. Clair School District
On Monday, November 2, 400 St. Clair students were immunized for H1N1. Patients First had stations set up in the high school and elementary buildings. They were prepared to immunize 700 students based on consent forms but low attendance due to sickness and some changing their minds resulted in a lower number. All paperwork had been prepared ahead of time and nurses confirmed the information with the students before giving them the vaccine. All the preparation insured the clinic ran smoothly. In most cases, students were given the nasal mist unless the student had asthma, then they were given a shot. Patients First said St. Clair was the first large school district in the county that they have done. Patients First works closely with the Franklin County Health Department on scheduling the inoculation days depending on need and shot supply.
